Story of Feta Pasta
Perhaps the ease of preparing the recipe, consisting of: cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, olive oil, pasta, salt and black pepper, was the reason for the spread of this recipe.
Preparing the recipe requires almost 3 simple steps, including: baking cheese and cherry tomatoes in the oven after adding olive oil and a pinch of black pepper, then mashing them and adding them to the previously boiled pasta.
These simple steps have prompted many who do not enjoy cooking to try it. But what is the story of this dish and where exactly did the recipe come from?
According to the Huff Post website, the pasta dish was called “Uni Vita Pasta” in Finnish, as the origin of the novel and story of the dish is attributed to three chefs, two from Finland and the other from the United States of America, who disagreed over the intellectual property rights to create the recipe for the dish.
Jenny Hierinen, a Finnish food blogger who has been sharing her recipes for 14 years on Instagram, claims that she first shared the recipe in February 2019 and is responsible for running out of feta cheese in stores.
While food blogger Theo Pirate claimed to have invented it a year earlier in 2018, she called the dish Prosecco Spaghetti , a slightly more complex version of what Jenny offered, made with feta cheese, prosecco (Italian white wine), onions and honey.
Then MacKenzie Smith, a Florida-based chef and cookbook author who posts recipes on a blog called the Grilled Cheese Social that has made the recipe popular in America, initially explained that she had heard about the recipe from a Finnish friend and shared it with her followers.
