Mahabharat Kans vadh Story

Mahabharat Kans vadh

According to ancient religious texts and Vedas, many pastimes of Lord Shri Krishna are famous, the most important and famous of which is the story of the killing of Kansa. According to a satirist, there are only two types of maternal uncles -: one is Shakuni maternal uncle, who was the maternal uncle of Kauravas and Pandavas during the Mahabharata period and the other is Kansa maternal uncle, who was the maternal uncle of Lord Krishna and Balramji. Information about the killing of Kansa is widely spread, but there is little mention of where and under what circumstances he was born. Therefore, the entire story of Kansa's birth, lifetime and his killing is as follows:

Mahabharat Birth of Kansa (Mahabharat Kans janam)

There was a city of Mathura in Mathur region and the king there was – Maharaj Ugrasen, who was the Yadu dynasty king and at the same time the king of Vidarbha country was – Maharaj Satyaketu. He had a daughter, whose name was – Padmavati. It is said that Padmavati was a girl with all the virtues. Maharaj Satyaketu got his daughter Padmavati married to Mathura King Ugrasen and Maharaj Ugrasen also started loving Padmavati very much, so much so that he would not even eat food without Padmavati.

After some time, Maharaj Satyaketu started remembering his daughter Padmavati and he sent a messenger to Maharaj Ugrasen to call his daughter to his maternal home for a few days. That messenger inquired about the well-being of Maharaj Ugrasen and then informed Maharaj Ugrasen about the state of mind of his Maharaj Satyaketu and then Maharaj Ugrasen accepted his request and gave consent to his beloved wife to go to her father. Ki and Padmavati came to her father's house.

One day Padmavati went for a walk on the mountain for her entertainment. There was a beautiful forest at the foothills and also a pond. The name of that pond was – Sarvatobhadra. Padmavati was very happy to see the beauty of that forest and the pond and she got into the pond and started playing with the water. At the same time, a demon named Gobhil came out from the sky and his eyes fell on Padmavati while playing and he became infatuated with her. Gobhil Daitya had miraculous powers, with their help he got complete information about Padmavati and also came to know that she was a devoted woman, hence he changed his form and assumed the guise of Maharaj Ugrasen.

Now he sat on the mountain and started singing a song and after listening to that sweet song, Queen Padmavati became enchanted and went in his direction and was surprised to see King Ugrasen and asked when did you come here? Then the demon Gobhil replied that he could not live without his wife. Then Padmavati came close to that demon and while making love, her eyes fell on a mark on the body of that demon, which was not on the body of Maharaj Ugrasen and then when she asked him, she came to know that he was a demon. Then that Gobhil Dautya said that the son who will be born from such union of them will create terror in all the three worlds and people will be very sad due to his atrocities. After this incident, when Padmavati returned to her father's house, she told the whole story. After this she returned to her husband Maharaj Ugrasen. Gradually Padmavati's pregnancy grew and after a long pregnancy period of 10 years, a child was born and this child was Kansa.

Mahabharata killing of Kansa (Mahabharat Kans vadh story)

Kansa loved his sister Devaki very much and he got Devaki married to Maharaj Vasudev and he himself was going to leave his in-laws house after bidding farewell to his sister. Then a voice came from the sky that “The eighth son of Devaki and Vasudev will be the cause of Kansa's death.” Then, trusting this voice from the sky, Kansa wanted to kill Devaki, then Vasudevji promised Kansa that he would hand over each of his children to Kansa as soon as they were born, but he should not kill Devaki. "Believing this, Kansa imprisoned Devaki and Vasudev and killed their six children one by one.

Before the seventh child was born, Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, assisted by Goddess Yogamaya, created Devaki's womb in the womb of Vasudevji's first wife, Rohini. This son was named "Balram," and the eighth child was born, Lord Krishna. In his incarnation as Krishna, Vishnu was born. That evening, all of the soldiers abruptly dozed off, the prison doors opened on their own, and Vasudevji dropped his kid off to his buddy Nand's house in Gokul.

In this way, Nand Baba and his wife Yashoda nurtured Lord Shri Krishna. During this time, Kansa made many attempts to kill him, but all failed. Then Kansa sent his minister and relative Akrura to take Krishna and Balarama. He was planning to organize a festival in his kingdom and invite both the brothers to it and kill them. When Akrurji reached Gokul to take Krishna and Balram, none of the Gokul residents wanted them to leave Gokul, then Lord Shri Krishna explained to them that this is an important phase of their life and for this purpose He was born. After explaining in this way, both the brothers along with Akrura came to Kansa's kingdom.

When Shri Krishna and Balramji reached Mathura, as per the plan, Kansa released an intoxicated and mad elephant on the two brothers. The elephant ran towards Krishna and Balram and destroyed everything in its path. Then Shri Krishna got down from his chariot and cut the trunk of that elephant with his sword and the elephant died. After this he went to the place where he had conducted his diplomacy – Purna Malla – war. Here he challenged both the brothers to a wrestling match. Defeat in this war meant death and in this, the skilled demons warriors 'Mushtik and Chanur' were taking part in the fight on behalf of Kansa.

Of these, Balramji started hitting Mushtik with his fists and Lord Shri Krishna started hitting Chanur and after some time Mushtik and Chanur died. Kansa was surprised to see this incident, then Shri Krishna challenged Kansa, “O uncle Kansa, now the pot of your sins is full and the time of your death has come. " On hearing this, all the people present there started shouting that kill Kansa, kill him because they all were also saddened by the atrocities of Kansa.

Kansa wanted to run away from there to save his life, but he could not do so. Then Shri Krishna attacked him and started reminding him of his atrocities, how he killed innocent children, kept Krishna's mother Devaki and father Vasudevji captive, killed their children, imprisoned his own father Maharaj Ugrasen. And how he himself became the king and how he oppressed the people and did injustice to them. After this, Lord Shri Krishna separated Kansa's head from his body with his Sudarshan Chakra and killed him.
