Samrat Prithviraj Story Review

With the release of the trailer of the film Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, Akshay Kumar was trolled on social media for not being the right choice for the role. After this the makers of the film also released its second trailer. Perhaps this was the reason that the film did not get the same response in advance booking and on the first day, less than expected audience reached the cinema to see a big star like Akshay.

We have read about Prithviraj Chauhan in history books, but this film deals with some parts of his story. According to the story of the film, the appointment of Prithviraj (Akshay Kumar), the king of Ajmer, as the king of Delhi, and the king of Kannauj, Jaichand (Ashutosh Rana) do not like it. Not only this, Emperor Prithviraj also picks up Jaichand's daughter Sanyogita (Manushi Chillar), who loves himself, from the pavilion of Swayamvar. This humiliated Jaichand, who was defeated at the hands of Prithviraj in the first battle of Tarain, tricks the Sultan of Ghazni, Mohammad Ghori (Manav Vij), to deceively hand him over to Prithviraj as a prisoner.

Although many stories are prevalent about the battle of Emperor Prithviraj and Mohammad Ghori, but according to this film, you have to go to the cinema to see how Emperor Prithviraj teaches a lesson to Mohammad Ghori. This film of just two and a half hours presents the story of Emperor Prithviraj in a hurry. There are many such questions in the film, which you do not get answers to. In the film, the scenes of Emperor Prithviraj's fight with the lions look exciting, but in the film made on a huge budget of more than 300 crores, both the battles of Tarain have to be reconciled to a few scenes.

Director Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi has presented the film in a flat manner to avoid controversies by covering the film in just two and a half hours,But in this affair, the film could not leave that much impact. The screenplay of the film also feels scattered. Akshay has tried his best to bring life to the role of Emperor Prithviraj, but it would be meaningless to expect perfection in the film from Akshay, who has shot his films in just 40-45 days. Compared to Ranveer Singh of Bajirao Mastani and Padmavat and Hrithik Roshan of Jodhaa Akbar, he is clearly inferior. At the same time, seeing Manav Vij playing the role of Mohammad Ghori in the film, the lack of a strong villain is clearly felt.
